supporting individuals coping with addiction, and their loved ones.
hi, I’m Louise. I have a passion for supporting adults who are ready to do something about their addiction.
Are you tired of relying on drugs and alcohol to get through the day?
Using drugs and alcohol is a common way to cope with anxiety, stress and difficult emotions. But continuing to rely on substances can make us feel even more depressed, anxious, and tired. It can take days for us to recover from a binge, hangover, or withdrawals. We may tell ourselves that we will only use a little, or that we’re going to stop. But then we use again. And we become really upset with ourselves for doing something we don’t want to do. That’s where the shame and regret come in. It becomes impossible to hold it all together. Problems at your job, in your relationships, legal issues- all these consequences start to add up. Perhaps you’re afraid these things could happen if you don’t find a way to stop using.
You know that using drugs or alcohol isn’t sustainable or the life you want. A better life is possible.
I enjoy helping individuals discover their why. We use drugs and alcohol for different reasons; to relax, to escape, to reduce anxiety, stress, boredom, physical and emotional pain. Let’s figure out your why together so that you can have your life back.
Taking the first step to book a therapy appointment can be difficult. I provide online therapy through my secure video service. There are many reasons why online therapy is so popular:
It’s comfortable– engage in a session from your favorite chair in comfort of your home.
It’s convenient– avoid traffic, bad weather, and parking issues.
It’s accessible– allows individuals with physical limitations greater ease in engaging in therapy.
It’s secure– communicate on HIPPA compliant video software.
Individual counseling
Sessions are conducted one-on-one via telehealth, or in person at my office in Andover, MA. You are invited to talk about whatever is on your mind in a safe, secure, and confidential setting. This is your time to speak freely and be heard by a non-judgmental listener. This is an opportunity to slow down, sit with yourself, and connect. Together we will co-create a plan of action to support your goals.
group counseling
Choose from several support group options whether you are seeking guidance around reducing alcohol or drug use, or you would like to connect with others who are in long-term recovery. Support group sessions are conducted on-line via a HIPPA compliant software. All groups are currently conducted online.
